Adults Committee Description
The Single Adults
Committee advocates for single homeless adults, develops programs and
funding that will be used for permanent housing and services for single
adults. The Committee also educates the Norfolk community about the needs
of single homeless adults.
2009-2010 Goals
Single Adults Committee

Promote a collaborative and effective response to singles issues in the community.

Support NHC sponsored employment events-Employment Connect.

Coordinate Norfolk’s annual Homeless Vigil in collaboration with other Hampton Roads cities as opportunities occur.

Affordable Housing – working to encourage local landlords/agents to offer more affordable units, work towards deposit assistance and deposit savings plans including resources for ex-offenders.

HPRP – provide central interaction/examination venue to address processes for HPRP

Resource Sheet for community use – addressing various needs of singles to include food stamps, housing, transportation, clothing, and other relevant information.

This event is free and open to all homeless single adult individuals in
the city or Norfolk. Food, games and musical entertainment
will be provided.
This event is an activity of the Norfolk Homeless Consortium’s, Single
Adults Committee.
