Central Intake/Families Committee
Description
The
Central Intake/Families Committee coordinates the implementation of the
Central Intake System for Homeless Families. The Committee also advocates
for homeless families as well as for funding and programs for homeless
families within the Norfolk Homeless Consortium.
2009-2010 Goals
Central Intake/Families Committee

Increase the housing/shelter options for women and unaccompanied minors who are homeless

Improve/increase funding for transportation for school-aged children living out of district but attending Norfolk Public Schools

Fully implement the Arizona Model for self-sufficiency (to replace the
SDM)

Revise and update Central Intake MOUs with local shelter

Increase case management capacity through HPRP programming

Increase family unification through housing vouchers
(FUP)

Coordinate efforts with the Norfolk Re-entry Council to assist in the reunification of families who have a head of household returning from a penal institution to the City of Norfolk.
